Through an (Application Programming Interface) API or dashboard, users have access to the infrastructure. Users manage applications, operating systems and middleware, while cloud service providers handle hardware, data storage, networking, hard drives and servers, as well as hardware repair, maintenance.
Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS)
PaaS is a cloud service provider that provides and manages the hardware and software platform, but the user is responsible for the applications and data used by those applications. PaaS services allow developers and users to develop and manage applications in the cloud without building and maintaining the infrastructure required for the process.
Software-as-a-Service (SaaS)
SaaS is a cloud-based service that provides software for online use. SaaS applications are usually web applications or mobile applications that users can access through a web browser. In addition to eliminating the need to install any application locally on each computer, SaaS also enables better methods of group and team collaboration.
Database-as-a-Service (DaaS)
DaaS is a cloud service that meets the needs of a database equipped with certain software development tools to help improve the performance of database control and management. In the absence of any physical hardware, users can access the database with the help of a cloud database service provider.
Storage-as-a-Service (STaaS)
STaaS is the service of using cloud-based data storage resources to store data. Using STaaS is more cost-effective than building your own data storage infrastructure, especially when users can match data types with available cloud-based data storage services.
Security-as-a-Service (SECaaS)
SECaaS is a cloud-based cybersecurity service. Security services can include data protection, Voice over IP (VoIP) security, database security, and network security that can help organizations/users be protected from network attack threats such as malware and botnets. SECaaS also makes it possible to avoid the cost of creating complicated on-premises security architectures.
